EDUCATION COORDINATOR
FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 1 YEAR.
Galway Traveller Movement works to level the playing field and
advocate for equality and inclusion in primary, secondary and third
level education for members of the Traveller Community. We wish to
recruit a fulltime Education Coordinator for *
hours per week. This worker will be employed on a fixed term contract
for 1 year from commencement date. The successful candidate will
coordinate the implementation of the GTM “Educate to Empower”
programme promoting Traveller culture and identity, the right to
education and the full inclusion of the Traveller community at all
levels.
CRITERIA:
* At least Level 7ordinary degree /8 Level primary degree in
education, youth & community, social science, or a relevant field.
* 5 years’ work experience in community/education work.
* An understanding of the education issues and policies impacting on
the Traveller community.
* The successful applicants will be required to work as part of a
team and have a commitment to working from an anti-racist and equality
perspective.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Deliver and coordinate activities & interventions for primary,
secondary and third level Traveller students.
* Engage with parents, schools, and key stakeholders.
* Measure equality outcomes for the Traveller community.
* Complete all project tasks to a high standard.
* Progress reporting to the GTM Board of Directors and funders
